How our new “life-style addition” Covid 19 affected the way we dress today.
The first thing I would like to talk about today is how our new “life-style addition” Covid 19 affected the way we dress today! We’ve witnessed it this pandemic has taken an upper hand on our fashion behavior since the start of lockdown in 2020. Not only has it affected the way we dress but also the way we shop.
More and more add to cart experts were born, more upcycling habits were adopted and of course the quaranqueen total outfit that will ensure comfort whole day long.
Not judging I love my comfy hoodie outfit lockdown or not! truuust me.
Many of us picked our team whether you choose the pajama style or dressed to go nowhere what really matters is how your outfit makes you feel. We have seen many babes out there thriving with the months of wearing no makeup, some are nailing the WFH style; dressed from the top with pajama bottoms and some others like me make the most of every occasion to dress up, going to the mall or just to my friends I don’t care my cool outfits are wondering if I’m still alive and I surely miss them.
Let’s be honest Covid did affect our fashionista life but we beat it to its game. If there’s something we are good at is adaptability, I mean we could live without wearing a bra for months! We became more conscious of the way we shop, the material we feel comfy in and now every occasion is an opportunity to dress up.
But there’s one piece that has now been added to our wardrobe in every color, material or design! Yes, you’ve guessed it right; it’s the face mask.
I now have one that matches every outfit. Most of all there are some creative boss babes out there making little chains to hold them! Isn’t it incredible that this major life altering event has brought out so much talent and ideas out of people?
I have personally tested and approved the face masks from @oopsidaisy.mu. A few weeks ago, I let my OSD (obsessive shopping disorder) take over and shopped a few sets from her.
She does the most gorgeous satin facemasks and they can come in sets; mask, scrunchie and head band. The quality can be felt and it’s all handmade, she also has them in many different colors and material to meet your personal taste.
My personal favorite is the pink one (fav color of course) but the one I wear the most is the champagne (nude) color as it matches almost everything I wear.

What’s also high five worthy for oopsidaisy.mu is the great customer service, I like my online shop responsive, straight to the point, fast and nice. If you are not nice to me doesn’t matter how much I love your stuff I ain’t getting it and making sure my friends aren’t too (did a little hair flip). And if you’re nice I can forgive the postal delays. But here she was both nice and quick within a few days I had my order delivered to my door.
Ps: These are not medical masks as you already know, but it will contribute to protecting yourself and people around you.
There you go I hope you enjoyed this little post Covid 19 fashion Post and look forward to the next!

Who Am I?
Alright alright I think it should be fair to give you a liiil introduction about myself and my path until now. It all sounds like the fairy tale out here but believe me it was a mountain climb, many times I was flying until I was then crashing (little ex cabin crew metaphor)
So, here’s the story of a small ghetto girl who went on to chase her dreams, I am she, she is me; Gina Clothilde Chowrimootoo I know very long name, most of you probably know me as gina_flies or Gina Chow on the gram. Here I’ll just be Clo.
Long story short all my friends call me Clothilde but when I moved to Dubai everybody started calling me Gina so I just went with it, let’s be honest it’s much easier to pronounce.
How bout we turn that into a little MRU version of a Netflix series?
Episode 1: Prelude
Eventually with Gina kinda came a new version of me, I was the posh flight attendant shopping in Paris and New York partying at the world’s best rooftop clubs, but the simple, humble down to earth Clo was still beneath. She was still craving other things that Gina couldn’t get, her idea of having it all was different.

Episode 2: Childhood
Since my very young age I was already a tiny fashionista I had my very own style and I remember my mum used to bring me to the seamstress every month and I would design my own model. This is my fondest memory of her, if she was here today she would probably be my no 1 supporter.

Episode 3: The big start
Carrying on to my teenage years I Was always drawn towards the fashion universe, I went on to my very first beauty contest called face of the month back in the days gosh saying that made me feel so old lol anyway I won face of august 2009. Which opened the path to freelancing on catwalks and commercials.

Episode 4: Beauty Pageants
Then the following year I went for my childhood dream of being Miss Mauritius I still remember I had my speech ready about why I would be a great Miss but I had an awful haircut and Laetitia Darche highly deserved that crown. I was lucky enough to be among the top 14 who were absolute stunners ! Absolutely no regrets as it was truly a fulfilling experience and I won in confidence, charisma and grace.

Episode 5: Paris mon amour
By the time I was 21 I was completely immersed in the fashion world how could I not be, I was now living in the fashion Capital Paris, where the haute couture boutiques were at every corner, don’t get me wrong I was not shopping Chanel; girl was broke. But I did inspire myself from the latest trends and headed to Zara or H&M where I easily found my happiness. Afterall fashion and style are not about the brand you wear; you could be wearing Gucci and look ridiculous. Same goes for trends I truly believe it’s about adapting them to your personality, body type and occasion.

Episode 6: View from the top
After Paris I went to pursue my lifelong dream; be a Flight Attendant.
Joining Emirates gave me the opportunity to try a different runway and wear a different crown. I will never forget the feeling of walking through the airport with all eyes on us.
Travelling the world as a flight attendant plus living in Dubai confirmed my never-ending love for shopping and fashion. It made complete sense to me I should be doing something about it, turn my passion into an occupation, this is where came Clo’z Online Yes Clo as in Clothilde and Clothes.

Girls would frequently ask me where did you get your outfit from? So, I was like why not make it available to them? I would essentially sell clothes that I would myself wear and feel-good in. Because yes, I feel the best when I look my best, and this is the whole purpose of this blog idea on clozonline.com to bring you tips on how to feel and look your best. Like everything that I started in my life I first felt super nervous and scared of people’s opinion, but then it would come up to me like; why not me? There is nothing I can’t do.
I will give you a heads up for my next Clo’z Blog Post on social media so stay tuned
Until then, wishing you all a trendy and warm winter
Keep Shining!
Clo
